Best Photo Printers: A Review of the HP Photosmart C309g Premium All-In-One Printer

I have used a wide variety of printers my entire life, and I can say that the best photo printers cannot be compared. This is because they have different features, and one may have a feature that the other doesn’t have, vice versa. But I can give a good example of a great photo printer that I really think can be a highly recommendable device, and it’s the HP Photosmart C309g Premium All-in-One Printer. I have written this review to make a further assessment as well as inform you about the different features this model offers.

It’s an all-in-one device, but it’s pretty compact as multifunctional printer. The dimensions of this device are 17.8” x 18.62” x 7.83” and it weighs 16.4 pounds. The nice and sleek black aesthetic makes it look in good condition despite constant wear and tear, although dust really creates a scene on this device. It’s easy to settle in any tabletop, desktop, computer table, and shelf, and you don’t have to worry about positioning it in your work area, cluttering it up, because the edevice is wireless-enabled and you can access it even at a distance as long as your computer and the printer are working within a single network.

The printer has a 3.45” CGD touch screen with TouchSmart control panel for easy access even without a PC. You can view, edit, and select the photos you wish to print without accessing them in a computer by simply using a removable storage device like memory cards, USB flash drives, and PictBridge-enabled cameras. You can also access it wirelessly via Bluetooth with any Bluetooth-enabled device.

Printing and Other Functions

As a printer, I can say that this is one of the best photo printers that I have had. Photos can be printed out with excellent quality, but I can undoubtedly say the same about documents. It can print up to 33 pages per minute for black documents and 32 pages per minute for colored images. The resolution of black documents can reach up to 600×600 dpi, but what’s amazing is the resolution of colored images which can reach up to 9600×2400 dpi, which definitely assures you of a high-quality printed photograph or illustration.

Duplex printing is also automatically set on this printer so you can save a lot of paper as well as time. This is a very beneficial feature for me because I print out colored brochures and flyers, and it’s important that every brochure gets printed on both sides automatically, or else I would be wasting time spinning the papers one by one just to get it done. Borderless printing is also enabled up to letter size papers so you can print portraits for framing or brochures with full colored prints without cuts.

Other Features

Although it doesn’t have fax, this device is very functional already. It has an automatic paper sensor which automatically adjusts the settings for printing depending on the paper you feed in the tray. If photo papers are present in the tray, the device will adjust its settings to the level which can provide the most superb quality of photos. The printer also makes use of several individual cartridges so you won’t have to replace the cartridge unless it’s completely out, and you can easily reinstall it as a single cartridge. Also, this device is Energy Star qualified so I’m very proud to own it because I believe devices with this feature are very helpful to Mother Nature. Why would you ever reject such useful and beneficial device?

Perhaps the high ink consumption of this device is its only flaw, perhaps not. But the best photo printers aren’t particularly perfect, and this model is already good enough for me. With its very functional features and different mechanisms, I certainly couldn’t ask for more. So I hope you found this a useful reference for making a decision for your printer purchase. All in all, I can confidently say that I highly recommend the HP Photosmart C309g Premium All-in-One Printer.
